On Tuesday 27 October, Canberra Grammar School announced a significant decision by the Board of CGS to begin the School’s transition to full co-education from Pre-School to Year 12.
The major development, which will see boys and girls together for the future, builds on forty years of co-education in the early stages of the CGS Primary School (Pre-School to Year 2) and will see the extension of co-education into Year 3 to 12, ensuring students are even better prepared to learn, work and flourish together in the modern world.
The School’s decision to go fully co-education has been informed by a long consideration of social and educational changes of the School’s long-term future, and of parental feedback over recent years. The extension of co-education from Year 3 onwards will be phased in over a number of years, with girls now able to apply for places in Year 3 and 4 in 2016.
You can read more about the transition to co-education here or by visiting us at our Whole School Open Day on Monday 2 November from 9:30am to 11:30am, you can also apply online now.
