Ms Anne Myongsook Witheford

Anne  joined the Board in 2018. She is a Grammar alumni and her brothers attended CGS (1980-86, Burgmann). She grew up in Canberra and returned after many years working in Asia. She has children in the senior and primary school.

Anne brings a deep personal and professional commitment to international engagement to the Board. She has worked to advance Australia’s outreach in our Indo-Pacific region over twenty years in key roles across the Australian Government (Departments of Foreign Affairs & Trade and Prime Minister & Cabinet), in Parliament House, and in two international organizations. She was honoured to advise the Australian Foreign Minister and Prime Minister on Australia’s future in an Asian Century.

Anne’s family has Australian, US, Korean and Chinese-Filipino heritage. They have lived and worked in Canberra, Southeast and North Asia, and North America.

Anne studied at ANU and Harvard University. She holds a double degree in Bachelor of Arts (First class honours) and Laws (Honours), a Masters degree of International Relations and completed Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Program for Senior Executives in National and International Security.
