Houses & Tutor Groups
Canberra Grammar School provides a comprehensive range of services and resources to support students and their families.
Effective care must be linked with considered and wise discipline; our policies seek to enhance positive human relations, and provide boundaries and direction for our students as they develop and advance through the School.
These include the:
- House and tutorial system
- Chaplaincy
- School Counsellors; and
- Teaching and Learning Development Department.
It is our goal that each student feels a sense of belonging to the School community, and has the opportunity and support for personal, social, academic and spiritual growth.
THE HOUSES AND TUTOR GROUPS
Students at Canberra Grammar School belong to one of 12 Houses which form the basis of the pastoral care system.
Students belong to smaller tutor groups within their houses, overseen by Tutors and Head of Student Houses and student representative leaders. This ensures there is someone identifiable to whom students, teachers or parents can turn to when there is a particular need.
The vertical structure of the Housing system gives students continuity throughout their years at School, and encourages friendships between more established students and those new to the School.
