Nearly 200 schools submitted entries for the 2015 Innovative Schools Award, but only the most cutting edge, and those leading in change and innovation were selected with 40 schools being identified as going ‘above and beyond’.
Canberra Grammar School was nominated as an innovative school for its outward vision that focuses on intercultural understanding through engagement with Asia. Excelling areas that were identified were the classroom upgrades and great access to communications technology, and broadening concept of contemporary learning and an enhanced capacity to engage with the world. This innovation and forward thinking culminated in the creation of the new flagship building, The Snow Centre for Education in the Asian Century.
