As the departure date draws nearer, the Reach for Nepal group recently put their fitness to the test with a challenging hike up Mt Tennent in Namadgi National Park. This 15km trek provided an excellent opportunity to assess their physical preparedness, while also allowing members to bond and better get to know each other and staff.

Though the heat made the hike tough, the team pushed through and with each step strengthened both their fitness and camaraderie. Their efforts were rewarded with breathtaking views at the summit, setting the stage for their upcoming adventure.

As we continue to count down the days until departure, the Reach for Nepal group is more united and motivated than ever. Stay tuned for more updates as they prepare for their incredible journey ahead!

The group’s bake and kitted goods sale today to raise funds for the trip was a resounding success. If you’d like to donate, you can do so at the following link: https://www.givenow.com.au/canberra-grammar-school-reach-for-nepal-fundraiser

Yesterday’s Harmony Day celebration embraced the diverse cultural and religious backgrounds within the CGS Community. It provided a valuable opportunity to delve into cultural beliefs and values, recognising how our differences and similarities strengthen our community.

As always, students across the Primary and Senior Schools were encouraged to wear cultural clothing or add a splash of orange to their uniform. Performances were held in the Quad during lunchtime, including Indonesian Embassy and Korean dances, while students contributed to the 2025 Harmony Day handprint posters. A special assembly was also held in the Quad, with flag-bearing and speeches about our students’ diverse cultural heritage.

CGS has just returned home from Hong Kong! Taking the opportunity to participate in an international school’s expo to recruit new students, the event allowed us to host parents and alumni for dinner at Oolaa Restaurant in Central. The night was filled with familiar and new faces, and good food and company made it a memorable evening. Earlier, Anson Fung and Oscar Lam had supported the initiative of formalising the Hong Kong Chapter Group. It’s always great to be back in Hong Kong, and this trip was no exception—a visit to remember.
