PRIMARY CAMPUSES & COMMUNITIES

Canberra Grammar School’s two wonderful primary school campuses are rich with character and spirit.

Each campus has a sense of community and provides all the opportunities of a sizeable well-resourced school while experiencing the individual attention and care a smaller, more intimate school offers.

We recognise that the most influential part of a child’s education is their family. Families of our Primary School students are valued members of a connected community where open communication is fostered.

To build authentic educational relationships with our students, we value their intellectual, spiritual, cultural and physical attributes as much as academic achievement. The School’s Directors of Student Life take a keen interest in each student and support teachers to nurture each student as an individual.

Both Canberra Grammar Primary School campuses provide rich learning environments that promote opportunity and student connectedness.

RED HILL CAMPUS

The Red Hill campus is spacious and welcoming, with established trees and plenty of open space. It’s home to the Pre-school to Year 2 community and the Years 3 to 6 community.

Preschool to Year 2

This warm learning environment caters specifically to the educational needs of our youngest learners.

Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten children spend their time together in the Early Learning Centre while children from Kindergarten to Year 2 undertake their learning in our Kindergarten to Year 2 environment.

We understand the importance of a carefully planned and balanced early childhood program. The School provides a rich learning experience that values the importance of play and builds a strong foundation to develop literacy and numeracy skills.

Years 3 to 6

We understand and support the emerging, distinctive needs of every student as they grow. Our young learners benefit from an environment with clear boundaries, high expectations and exemplary role models.

The School draws on students’ natural curiosity and sense of adventure. They engage in programs of discovery that build on their knowledge and skills, develop independence and emphasise our values and attitudes.

Our students engage in self-reflection, enjoy the freedom to ask questions and have the confidence to take risks. Their spirit of adventure and determination see them succeed across all aspects of their lives, including music, sports, arts, culture and academia.

NORTHSIDE CAMPUS (Pre-K to Year 2)

Our warm and inviting campus in Canberra’s inner north caters for approximately one hundred students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2. Staff and students enjoy the benefits of being part of a small community that is strongly supported by the resources and community of the broader life of Canberra Grammar School.

The partnership between children, teachers and caregivers is integral to the success of the School. We foster open communication, and caregivers are encouraged to participate in the learning environment to achieve this.

Situated in the rich natural surrounds that Canberra is known for, our Northside campus provides an ideal environment to begin a child’s journey of learning.
