Boarding house

In 2019, Canberra Grammar School welcomed its first cohort of female boarders into its new state-of-the-art Girls’ Boarding Houses. The male boarders are accommodated across two Boys’ Boarding Houses which have been extensively refurbished.

All students enjoy Wi-Fi internet access, study and social spaces, and modern bathrooms.

PDHPE/ GYM

The PDHPE features a large open hall space and 2 large basketball courts, a weights room and tiered bleacher seating

heritage-listed Dining Hall

Our heritage-listed dining hall is a wonderful facility that holds a lot of CGS memories. Its vaulted ceilings and gothic tracery windows make it a favourite venue for special events such as weddings and markets. Our boarding students enjoy communal meals with their peers and staff.

Primary School Library

The CGS Primary School is a changing and dynamic place, at the forefront of the information age aiming to stimulate interest in literature and independence in literacy.

Health clinic

The School runs a fully operational Health Centre at its Red Hill Campus. The clinic is staffed by registered nurses who offer advice and assistance to students and staff. Staff at the Health Centre will work with families to devise health plans for students who require them.

indoor swimming pool

Students and staff use the heated indoor swimming pool to train for competitive swimming and water sports. The popular facility is also used as part of the School’s physical education program and other water-based activities.

The Chapel

The Chapel of Christ the King is an inspiring space that includes a two-storey high ceiling, narrow stained glass splits for windows, conical roof and spire. It is the focal point for worship at Canberra Grammar School, but also other special events.

Tennis courts

Tennis is a popular sport at CGS, both competitively and for recreation. The School has eight tennis courts at its Red Hill campus, which students use. Six of the courts sit amongst our ovals and other sports facilities, creating an inspiring sporting atmosphere.

Basketball courts

Ovals

Canberra Grammar School offers access to six ovals, each with its character and purpose, including cricket and netball. The Main Oval is a beautiful, traditional ground that includes outdoor tiered seating and a pavilion surrounded by lush, established trees.

Snow Concert Hall, Music Centre and Senior School Library

The Snow Concert Hall and Music Centre  is Canberra Grammar School’s state-of-the-art performing arts centre. It includes a modern library, music & meeting rooms as well as a 1400 seat acoustically tuned concert hall . 

Tim Murray Theatre

The Tim Murray Theatre and Performing Arts Centre  is purpose-built for theatre, dance, concerts, recitals, lectures, seminars and conferences. This facility gives students the space to learn skills for performance and stagecraft as well as technical and backstage roles.
