Benefits of Working at CGS

Professional Development

The School makes opportunities available for staff to professionally develop through a staff excellence fund and an annual professional appreciation cycle that assists staff to enhance their skills and professional practice techniques. The School also engages with three leading curriculums – The International Baccalaureate Programme, the Australian Curriculum and the NSW Higher School Certificate – meaning staff will have the unique chance to broaden their knowledge and student engagement skills across a variety of subjects.

The School offers a variety of salary sacrifice benefits including mobile devices and relocation expenses that are exempt from FBT; and superannuation (which for permanent staff is 11.5%). Additionally, CGS offers a variety of salary package services, at the full-rate of FBT, but also many that are exempt (or otherwise deductible), including: professional memberships, self-education expenses, professional or trade journal subscriptions, income protection insurance and professional indemnity insurance for an annual fee (which can also be packaged) through our salary services provider.

Staff have access to the CGS Health Clinic and are available to obtain health and well-being advice. Additionally, once a year the School provides staff the option of an influenza vaccination free of charge.

The School encourages staff involvement and recognition across a variety of platforms, including the:

  • Staff Association that recognises the work and achievement of staff

  • Staff Professional Excellence Fund that funds staff initiatives that enhance the professional excellence and experience of individuals or groups of staff at the School.

The EAP can provide assistance with a broad range of issues, including relationships, family matters, worklife balance, anxiety, depression, communication, crisis, violence, bereavement, addiction, work performance, bullying, harassment, conflict management, career progression, retirement, and legal and financial matters.
