A HOME ON CAMPUS
Our boarders enjoy a home away from home, with all the resources of the School and our National Capital at their doorstep, as well as access to academic support, assistance from peers and mentors, and consistent routines that help navigate School life.
We invite you to look through our Boarding Brochure.

Our boarders have 24 hour, seven day a week support from an incredible team of dedicated and caring professionals, led by the Heads of Boarding. The team also includes live in and visiting tutors, a registered nurse and visiting doctor. Academic tutors offer that little bit extra to support our commitment to academic excellence while our Boarding Coordinator assists in the day-to-day care of boarders by providing pastoral, domestic and administrative support to boarders, their families and the Boarding House staff. CGS Boarding also offers a range of dedicated pastoral care staff, including counsellors and psychologists who are on-staff.

On Wednesday at lunchtime, CGS students were treated to a vibrant glimpse of culture from the eastern part of Indonesia, Papua. This special event formed part of the visit by a delegation from the Indonesian Ministry of Defence and the Papuan Government to Canberra, generously supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.
Our students were absolutely captivated by the talent of Bapak Frans Rumbino, a Papuan singer and musician, as well as a dynamic performance of “Yamko Rambe Yamko”, a well-known Papuan folk dance.
We hope that experiences like this continue to broaden our students’ understanding and appreciation of the rich diversity found across Indonesia’s many cultures. Opportunities to witness authentic cultural performances, right here at CGS, help us nurture globally minded learners who value different perspectives and traditions.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra for providing this opportunity for our students, as well as to the distinguished guests who attended the event. ... See MoreSee Less
We were thrilled to welcome award-winning Australian author Robbie Arnott to our school this week. During the day, Robbie met with our Year 7 and Year 11 English classes, sharing insights into his writing career and the creative process behind his celebrated novels. Students were captivated by his stories, humour, and practical advice for young writers.
After school, Arnott delivered an engaging presentation for staff, parents, and students, offering a deeper look into his craft and the inspirations behind his work. The event concluded with a book signing, where many took the opportunity to have their books personally signed and to chat with the author.
We thank Robbie Arnott for an inspiring and memorable visit and we are looking forward to more author visits next year as part of our Author Spotlight Series. ... See MoreSee Less
